Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Definition

The 2024 revision requires PPE for workers in DecaBDE/PIP (3:1) regulated areas: at minimum NIOSH-approved respiratory protection (half-mask N100 or equivalent). Effective January 21, 2025 for most workplaces.

Practical Explanation (Compliance Context)

PPE requirements operate independently of OSHA and may exceed them. Companies must procure respirators, conduct fit testing, train workers, and maintain PPE records.
